Success Through Quality and Commitment: 2010 Volkswagen Service Qualification World Champions Honored

Best service specialists come from Kuwait and the Netherlands

Wolfsburg, Germany -  Specialist knowledge and personal commitment are the key to success in the Volkswagen brand's 2010 Service Qualification World Championship. The finals held in Wolfsburg at the weekend were won by service adviser Andreas Schaefer from Kuwait and service technician Johnny De Cocq van Delwijnen from the Netherlands. They produced the best performance out of the 120 service specialists from 60 countries who competed in the many practical and theoretical tests - from vehicle repair to customer consultation.

Christian Klingler, Group Board Member for Sales at Volkswagen AG, presented the prizes at the award ceremony on Saturday evening. Addressing the competitors, he said: "You all gave an impressive performance at the Service Qualification World Championship with your outstanding achievements, in-depth knowledge and personality, and with the passion you bring to your daily work. On behalf of Volkswagen I would like to thank you for your commitment." Klingler said he was very satisfied with the results of this championship competition.

The aim of the Qualification World Championship is to safeguard and further expand the level of service quality offered by the Volkswagen brand all over the world. With its preliminary rounds in 60 countries and the finals in Wolfsburg, the competition fulfils an important bridging function between the automaker, the importers and the retailers in the markets. This is how the knowledge status of service advisers and technicians can be verified, and targeted qualification initiatives catering for cultural differences and differentiated learning methods in the various countries can be developed.

In addition, the Qualification World Championship also helps to steadily raise the motivation of local service specialists. This was the third time the competition has been held. In addition to the world champion titles, regional winners were also honored this year. The regional classifications of Europe (A), America (B), Africa, Eastern EU, Central Asia and the Middle East (C) and Asia-Pacific (D) take account of local conditions.
